Jillian Martinez graduated Valedictorian from Tierra Adentro of New Mexico in 2018 and went on to graduate Summa cum laude with a BS in Applied Mathematics and a Minor in Flamenco Dance from UNM in 2021. She graduated with a Masters of Science in Project Management from UNM’s Anderson School of Business in 2024.
After years of valuable business experience working at Sandia National Laboratories, she decided to pursue a technical degree and is currently enrolled in UNM’s PhD program for Electrical Engineering with a focus in Applied Electromagnetics. She is completing her research at Sandia National Labs. Continuing in her love for movement and inspiring others to move, she is a certified personal trainer and teaches group fitness formats including indoor cycling and other strength training programs.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, riding bikes, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Ginny Wilmerding, Ph.D. danced professionally in New York City before moving to New Mexico. She is a Research Professor at the University of New Mexico where she teaches for both the Exercise Science and Dance Programs. Ginny also teaches ballet at the Public Academy for Performing Arts (PAPA) and sits on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Ballet Company. She has co-authored two books: Motor Learning and Control for Dance: Principles and Practices for Performers and Teacher, and Dancer Wellness.
